I for one like having the jib track, but I had a jib built long ago when 
cruising offshore. It keeps the family shrieking down when working to 
windward in 25 kts. of wind.
Anyway, the woodworking is about as easy as it gets cutting a teak 
spacer. The hardest part is getting the right length bolts so that cap 
nuts give a more or less finished look in the cabin. Secure too long 
bolts temporarily with regular nuts, cut excess of with a dremel cutoff 
blade, remove nut (thereby straightening any thread boogers), and finish.
