Paul,

If you want to start a fight in this group, asking what prop size is
appropriate for an Alberg may just be the way.

I have a Yanmar 2gm20 and I sometimes race. My crew demands we have a two
blade prop so currently I have a 13x9 RH on my boat. It is not the
greatest but it is way better than my old 13x7, I probably go .5 knot
slower than others under power. Laughing Gull has a two blade 13x12 which
seems to work well. If you decide to go with a two blade, I would
recommend the 13x12.

The last three blade I had on mine was the "Chesapeake 3" It was a 12 x
14. It came with glowing recommendations and I was less than impressed.
In fact, my two blade 13 x9 was better than my Chesapeake 3.

I think Yanmar recommends something like a 15 x10. However, 15 will not
fit on our boats because of the clearance issue with the rudder. My
recollection is 13 is the biggest we can go.

I hope it helps. I wish you the best and if I can be of any additional
assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,

Woody
