Hi Greg,Thanks! I look forward to seeing your data.I'm reading between the lines but when i look at the 1969 drawing on the alberg site i see a rudder post that is meant to be encapsulated. The bronze rods are pressed fit in to the post... That fits with your observation that your rudder n post are a single unit.
Regards,
Greg

Hey Folks,I'm still working through the design details of the rudder. Any chance a few folks can measure the thickness of their fiberglass rudders? Please confirm that, like Gord's, they have flat, parallel sides?
Regards,
Greg

Hi Greg

Not a problem. I'm down at our boat over the next couple of days. I'll measure the thickness for you. One observation that I have to make is that my rudder on our 68 seems a little different to other maybe later boats in that the shaft and rudder are one piece.

Greg.

There seems to be a lot of variation in Whitby's rudder construction, but I
am pretty sure the rudder stock on your '68 is two piece. It is on my '67.
Makes it a lot easier to take off for working on the hardware.
Design drawings for '67 era are somewhere in the archives-used to be in the
collaborate section.
