Regarding trailering, 

Some observations - note that with beam at 8' 9" you are three inches over allowable width of 8' 6", in Canada anyhow.  Amazingly, last fall at haul out my pre-liner alberg came in at exactly 9000 lbs on the crane scale (give and take about 100 lbs) bare bone empty!  I haul it home on a triple axle trailer towed by a 1 ton diesel. I am told authorities are tolerant of recreational hauler if your set-up looks safe (strong, roadworthy) and secure (working lights, sturdy straps etc.).  I have not put the load on a scale but feel it is below 12000 lbs. in total.  

A trailer is very handy, I can launch the boat from it but it is not yet set-up to retrieve. Overall, trailering to and from the marina twice a year is great, not sure I would want to travel around with that type of load. Not really fun and not sure how good it is for the old alberg!

Just make sure you have the correct safety stickers on towing vehicle and 
trailer because you are over 12,000 GVW and have both the correct driver's 
license and weight rating on your vehicle license.  In Canada, you need an A 
driver's license (which is the same as a transport trucker). We also need 
both tow vehicle and trailer with annual "safety" stickers and you will need 
brakes  that work on at least one axle with that weight.

I built a trailer for my Alberg in 2001. Used two 6K Dexter Torflex axles. 
The tyres are your weak link. Mine are load range E 10 ply. I have heard 
that axles are rated at 80% of their load capacity. So the two axles 
typically have a 2,400# "reserve". The Torflex axles were used because they 
are torsion sprung and can have a much lower drop than leaf sprung axles. 
But they are set in hard rubber bushings..................because of that I 
jack up the trailer when not in use to take the weight off the axles.
Gord is correct 9,000# is the figure to use..................that is empty 
weight, no fuel, stores or water aboard. I have towed the Alberg about 3,000 
miles total with no issues to date.

What is the weight of my non liner A30 ? Just the bare boat, mast etc. I'm 
considering a trailer and trying to work out if the axles are strong enough.
