[Public-List] Broken tack attachment

All good thoughts. I did contact a welder that can weld aluminum. I am concerned about taking this piece off since the screws holding it to the furler gear may be so corroded they may break. I am also thinking of a SS strap or tang going around the whole thing with holes at the top to accommodate a bolt going through the tack shackle and reefing hooks.

If you desire the original appearance then have a competent Al welder make an eye plate and weld it on where you wish.
