[Public-List] Checking the starter motor and alternator...after 20 years & 1700 hours

Randy,
Polish the journals on the starter motor.  The plain bearings are oilite bronze. So disassemble the plates with the bearings from the field housing  Wad up some paper towel into the bearing and squirt with lubricating oil to saturate the paper towel.  Do this a few times over a day or two.  Remove the towel and reassemble. Good for another twenty years or so.
