I replaced mine years ago out of one piece.  Because I have a liner boat I had to do some contouring to the underside of the tag rail.  The original tag rail was still solid but someone ran into me at the mooring from astern.  Scotch Bonnet is now back in Salt water on Cape Cod after years in Lake Champlain!!
