In both Canada and the USA you can add Hagerty to the list of Marine insurance on Classic Boats including plastic classics.
While we are with Skipper's Plan, Hagerty represents another avenue worth exploring.
Hope this is a help.
Cheers,
JB

Hello friends,
I second Marianne’s comments, Drew at Skipper’s Plan is a sailor himself and knows the business. I have had a claim and having him navigating the insurance world for me was invaluable.
I reckon the key is to have a broker who knows the business… they must exist in the US.
One thing Drew helped me understand is that if one insures the yacht with too low a value assigned to her, even minor damage can cause her to be written off. On that subject I am delighted that CARANDY, quite a nice A30, likely sold for a reasonably good price, which helps us all.

Boat US first quoted $5,100 before clarifying that they don’t write this or even liability coverage for vessels older than 40 years. Quest was built in 1970 and is kept on a private dock at our second home in the lower Chesapeake Bay.
