[Public-List] Re-bedding the handrail

My handrails are through bolted and the holes have been isolated from the core with epoxy. Each hole is chamfered to accept the sealant. However, one of mine recently sprung a leak after re-sealing everything with 3M 4000 3 years ago. I found that a bit of movement in the handrail caused the seal to break. I just resealed that handrail and used Bed-it Butyl tape. The butyl should hold even with some small movement in the handrail which is inevitable. I can see it being an issue with screws instead of bolts. Mine had screws originally but I didn’t trust them as much as what I have now.
