Hello Jonathan -

Eliminating play in the rudder head is worth doing in any case.

Our rudder heads are bronze - I’ve been told that people have had success building up worn surfaces by brazing; then grinding back to recreate a perfect fit.

I’ve told customers that your hand on the tiller or wheel is your most intimate connection with your yacht… anything you can do to improve the sensitivity you feel in the helm is worth doing, and is crucial to being able to sail your boat to its potential.
